dude i love this shit!!!! im makin my own solo album at the moment, and this is something great to listen to for inspiration!!! my main influences for it are experimental stuff like john frusciante, captain beefheart, frank zappa and funkadelic and then normal stuff like rem, the beatles and pulp and then some jazz like art blakey, kenny burrell and ornette coleman. this is the kinda album im wantin to make, besides the drums as i dont have the means to record them, and i dont really want programmed drums for this. id keep up with this kinda stuff if i were you, its great.

From the bio:

Manburger is the alter-ego for the music of Pat Aslin. The music creations of Manburger are exclusively studio creations, never to be reproduced live. All recording takes place at Sausage Studio (Also known as Pat's bedroom) located in Rumson, New Jersey. Influences include The Beatles, Ween, Frank Zappa and Talking Heads. Manburger is not a novely band, nor are the lyrics intended to be of any comedic value. If you wish you to laugh at lyrics, I suggest you turn on Top 40 radio, specifically listen for Emo and Linkin Park. This will induce much more laughter than any Manburger song ever could.

For an act that's allegedly not trying to be funny, this is really funny and silly music that is actually very serious, but perhaps very serious only in the sense that it is very seriously fuckin' funny and silly.

Very Ween and Dead Milkmen.

I guess you either get it or you don't.

Dude,

You were born 25 years too late for the new wave\punk\artsy-fartsy-artiste' revolution of the late 70's. Sometimes life just isn't fair....

Cool stuff, in a quirky way. I can dig this. I listen to be entertained, and you accomplished that. :D

Hey Beefman...you're back in the charts again! Didn't get a chance to listen to anything first time around, and now I've just listened to your recommended "Droopy Face". Very fun song. Great sounds. I like it. I'll have to listen to some of the other stuff. Your song reminded me of my favourite Kiwi dude Chris Knox. And I like him a lot.

When I was 19 I tried writing songs and they all came out like soppy radio pop wannabe's that were just tedious twaddle. So I gave up music for 15 years. If I'd come up with something like yours I think I might've stayed with it.

Keep on having fun

exelent stuff, man very Van der grafish.
I think Peter Hamill would have loved this, I sure as hell do.
exelent, and ingenious music man.
Only listened to few songs yet, but I`m a fan. :)

Wow, I was really suprised to see this thread back up. Thanks for the kind words. I'm slowly working on a new album, but being an engineering student and work, I have absolutely no time to record. THIS IS NOT THE ROCK AND ROLL LIFE.

Thanks again for the kind words. I just wish that I fixed the few really bad vocal flubs. It's probably better that I leave these songs alone, and just progress from there.

Very cool and humorous. Some timing issues but I'm not sure if this was left that way on purpose--if so it doesn't seem to matter.Interesting leads here. Some strange notes in there but again it seems to be the way the song is.Good mix.Enjoyed it man!!

There are a lot of issues everywhere. I just was to lazy to fix them all.

Hey--at least you're honest about it--I still think it's great and very unique--will listen to more later...

Manburger:

I'm glad this thread was revived - I missed it the first time around.

Very funny stuff. Loved "Peg Leg." Twisted . . . in a good way.

I listened to 'Beef Beyond Belief'. Capt. Beefhart meets and has sexual relation with George Clinton. Wild! I like it! Downloading the album. :D

Just wanted to add that after listening to that first song back there I downloaded the whole album. It's great! Lived up to my expectations and more. Good getting-up-in-the-morning-motivation-to-go-off-to-work stuff while chugging breakfast. I will be listening to this quite a bit.

BTW don't even think of touching it. It's fine as is. Just do your engineering degree (never hurt me) and get onto something new when you have time.

Thanks for the motivation
