Gone
...according to their current catalog. I'm indifferent when it comes to sam ash, but that's the lowest price I've seen on the V67 so far (now that the mars deal seems to have passed).

well, I hope they be decent mics. I scored two today. It'll be a step up from my 57s, and maybe a complement for my 603. Let ya'll know what I think when I get'em. I figured, for 90.00 bucks, and the way folks around here speak about the v67, I could'nt go wrong. I'm gonna use'em mostly for acoustic music, and maybe vocals when the guys are over here picking. I only have 1 art pre amp at this time, but hopefully, I can take care of that when I get some more bucks.

Anyone know anything about SM Pro Audio? I saw a 8 channel pre for 200.00 in MF catalog. Must be cheap shit for that price. I think it is model PR8. Just wondering. Since this is a hobby for me and some pals, no demos or shit like that, something like that might be OK, especially being on a cheapo budget for my gear.

Nothing is a step up from 57`s, just useful additions!
Now you have another color to chose from.

yeah Neve, you're right. The 57s will always be there. I'm hoping the LD will give me a new sound on the acoustic guitar. Something different. I've been using the 57s for a long time. We'll see.

You really want to know?

It`s cold(30 F), some snow is falling, and I can`t say I look forward to the winter, I prefer summer!!!
I guess it`s a bit better in Virginia.....

I just bought one from Sammy's.... I hope it's worth the $89! It didn't say if it was actually in stock though. Am I missing it? Is there a place on the page where it says "in stock"?

RF

I hope they're in stock. You know, damn, I paid for it, where the hell is it! I hate when they dangle the good price, and then don't have'em.

Neve, fall is here. Low 40's at night. 60's during the day. A few leaves falling. Not too bad. But damn, you got some snow working. I'm with you pal, summer time in the country.

The V67 is certainly a fine mic...at least it was when I got mine for $210. It's very dark and at times a bit gritty. For $89 you can't go wrong. Plus you can always do the dorsey mod on it, and I'm betting it would turn out to be better than it would on some $80 Nady.

You really cant go wrong on that price......but I keep hearing more and more about problems from people I know (Yesterday was the latest) with some of these mics failing them later...Just something to think about....

If I was near a sam ash I would get one for that price. $210 ?! I'm not sure........

Shailat, I got mine for $210 shortly after they were introduced. I think that was with shipping, but still steep compared to current prices :)

All I have to do is buy something and its price will drop by at least half. Heh.

I love mine...I think I paid 130 or so, as a demo unit at mars.

I got my 67 for $99 when Mars had there close out & thought it was a steal. It's a good & useful mic on some vocals but I have to tell ya ever since I got my SP B1's it rarely if ever gets used any more as the B1's always seem to win out over it, especially on instruments (acoustic guitar, drum overheads etc.) not even on the one thing I initially thought the 67 was perfect for.... my voice. I was reluctant to admit it at 1st but the SP B1 has been working out better for my voice on the things I've been doing lately better than the 67 & it was only $80 regular price. I'm still hanging on to the 67 though as it may eventually turn out to be the right choice again for a particular voice or song.

well now, it's always the same. The difference in my tracking with the 57s, and tracking with my new v67 is like nite and day. It goes along with all other gear. From my porta 2 and radio shack mic, to my 424mkIII and the 57s, to my 788 and 57s, to the 788 and the v67. WOW. It's a good thing I'm not well off $$$$ wise. I know I'd have all the latest stuff. he he he he he. And this is just a hobby for me and my friends.

And by the way, I ordered the mics on Friday, and recieved them early on Tuesday. Thanks sam ash for decent service.

8th strret is selling the v67 w/MXL-57 Shock Mount & 15tft Mogami Mic Cable for $179. 00.

So the sam ash price is pretty good for $90.

the shock mount is $30
the mogami cable is $30

get everything seperate and you still save $30 beens.

anybody else feel that the SP b1 is better(?!?) than the v67?

Well I have both. For my voice - thin, uncertain, tone-deprived - the 67 is better. But for a vocalist I am recording, we both prefer the B-1. His voice is much stronger, a real powerful baritone. And he likes to push it! For some reason the lows-to-mids of the 67 almost muddy the water on his vocals. To me, the B-1 is a little cleaner or crisper.

I have a very projecting tenor voice, and I too have found that my V67G seemes to crap out on me. I have two other guys who I have recorded that are really soft singers, both tenors, and the V67G has worked great for them. Of course, it is my main mic, and it is causing me grief to not get the sound I want. Maybe I should sell the G and look into the B series...

This is not the same M37 sold at Musicians Friend. This is the newer model they have on CAD's website. The MF model is the M177 in a different body.
