So I'm looking for another budget priced mic to add to my collection before my band starts recording next week so I have to ask... which of these two mics would help benefit my recordings best?

I already have:
SM57
MXL 993 stereo pair
MXL 3000
Audix D6

Or if there's any other sub-$150 mics I might be forgetting about that might do me better, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance!

Edit: to help clarify, i'm recording a ska band. So guitars/bass/horns/drums are what I'll be recording

I'm trying to figure out your thread title to the content of your thread ... but reading within your thread your going to need horn mics! get somemore used 57s, 3 maybe 4 for $150.
That will be a good start!

Sorry I realize that might've been confusing, I'm looking to pick up a few extra new mics before we start recording (different than one's i already have) and those were the two i was looking at (the V63m and the .e609) Just looking for opinions, thats all :)

I see. Well you don't have to purchase new and like I suggested get a bunch of 57s used they will do you fine.

Imo, the E906 is a much better, more versatile choice, especially since you already have a 57. The 906 has switchable rolloff patterns which change it's warmth and phatness, the 609 does not offer that. I got my E906 used mint on the bay for under $150 about a year ago. A very pleasant surprise!
