MXL Genesis Tube Microphone - Worth the money?

I ran across this youtube video today from this company I have bought from before, but never tried any MXL mics. Let alone a tube mic in this price range. It's only $495 until the end of this month. I am in need of a better condenser mic. My AKG 420 is good, but time to upgrade. I use these mics for vocals mainly.

Any thoughts on the MXL Genesis?

I have two MXL microphones (USB .009 and VO: 1A) and both are very good condenser microphones, though the latter is designed specifically for voiceover rather than singing or other. I don't know about the Genesis Tube, but the Genesis line seems to be their flagship microphones.
