I presently own a GT55 but have the tube jonez and have spent all day reading this forum.
It seems like the SP and MXL (the apex too) mics seem to be the most reliable of the chinese lot. With MF private labelling the 960 and GC doing the same for the 9000, which way do I go for $200. I called GC and asked my guy what the best he could do on the 9000 was and he said there was a mandatory minimum of $199...so no easy decision from a ""deal" perspective.
Use will be mainly acoustic guitar and my vocals. Apparently the V77 was the MXL mic to own, but they seem hard to find. Which of these two would be closer to the V77's "neutrality" that I've read about from Harvey and Kidvybes.
