Well. I just got my 2001/603 package and my ECM8000 mics and I'm not feeling to great about it. The mics feel okay as far as solidity and construction but they sure in the hell skimpped on the mic clips. Those are some cheap-ass mic clips! I'm really worried about how long they'll last under constant use. I probably won't use the 2001 much anyway but I'm afraid to use it even once with that clip! :(

I haven't had a chance to try them all out yet but I'll do it tonigh when I get home from work. Using Cakewalk 9, is there a way I can test the mics to see if they're a good match?
Thanks,
RF

Yea.

Step 1: Plug them in.

Step 2: Point them at instrument and/or mouth.

Step 3: Sing and/or play instrument

Step 4: Listen to results and evaluate.

Step 5: Repeat as desired.

Generally, if it sounds good to you, then it's probably all good. If, however, it sounds like crap and/or shit, then you may have a bad match.

:D :D Sorry, RF. I just couldn't resist that one. :D

Okay.. Okay...lemmee git this straight,

1. Plug it in

2. Point them at an instrument/and or mouth

3. Sing/and or play instument

let's see.....what was the 4th thing?

Oh yeah!
4. Listen to the results

5. Repeat as desired

Well.....2 & 3 I can do no problem. 4 & 5.... yeah, okay no problem.

I'm having a tough time with #1 though. :D

Ive designed shock mounts, for the 603s and ecm8000s. to help with the internal noise.

Go to your home depot and find the plumbing aisle, get a 1"1/2 coupling. It coasts about 25 cents for an abs black one.

Go to your hobby store in the jewelry making section and get some black elastic cord for making bracelets. costs about $1.00.

Drill eight small holes in the coupling,(4 on each side) . and thread the cord through so theres 2 parellel on each side, pull tight and tie.

Then you can hold these with standard mic clamps.

Actually darrin, That isn't a bad idea at all! PVC's the shit! You can ake anything with that stuff.

What's not to like? You get a perfectly good small diaphragm instrument/overhead mic, and a great fishing sinker!-Richie

I've decided that the 2001 is my new tom mic, so if anybody wants to send them my way let me know. I've got some Audix and other stuff to trade.
