MX5050 useing

Hello, posting in reguards to hooking up and operation of
some audio equipment, what I am trying to do is hook up an EQ, and
Reel to reel to a reciever, also hooking up my comp to same reciever,
I want playback and recording on the reel to reel (Otari MX-5050).
also piped through my computer. (want to record some audio files to
and from my computer. for editing with sound-forge
My computer is hooked up and my reel to reel is hooked up, I can get
sound from my comp to the sterio through the eq, but not onto the tape for play back through the reciever (From tape to reciever) plays fine from comp to reciever, through EQ and through R2R but not able to record, (settings?)
although I can get it through all this equip....... maybe my question
should be what switches to I need to push settings do I need make this all
work?....... I am not a true novice to sterio/computer hook up but am a
true novice on reel to reel operation and hook up, will I need a diff reciver?
if so what should I look for in the hook up department? (jacks
switches ect?). any diagrams, websites with diagrams, any info,,
anything... thank you very much

Drop the idea of using the receiver. Get a soundcard like this --- LINK --- that has 2 line level inputs and go from the MX-5050 into those. Go back into the two track with the outputs from the soundcard.
