Hey Justin,

First, I would just like to say that I really like the song. I've listened to it quite a few times, and am really enjoying it!

I know you aren't completely happy with the preamp you are using for your vocals, but I actually really liked the sound you achieved on the song. I own a C1 and am running it through an RNC and RNP, and I have a similar type of voice to yours. I was wondering if you could share with me what went into the vocal sound that you got. How far from the mic you were, any EQ used, and types of FX etc. I'm just curious. By the way, I just got the RNC, RNP combo, and so far I'm very pleased with both, but still testing...

Once again, great song!

Meb,

Man Im sorry to reply so late. I must've missed my own Nick in the subject. I track 6 inches back from the C1. I dont do much to the vocal chain really. Waves Rvox compression is the biggest trick to it. The thing just sounds so good on vocals. I add a high shelf at 13000 KHZ ( I love air) but its got to be out of reach of the SSS. I like dry vocals myself so I use little to no verb. On that track I used a little waves delay. Compression is key to good vocals unless youre dealing with a tremendous singer (which Im not). A pack per day Marlboro habit will really kill your control. Good luck.

Thanks
Justin
