Wrote and recorded this one soon after committing my girfriend of seven years to the mental hospital. It was not a pretty situation.
This song was definetly a cathartic activity. I wrote it in about ten minutes and immediately recorded it. Everything is first take except the drums which took me a few tries - I really don't know how to play drums.

This is the only song I've done where I've played everything so I'm interested to hear what you think. If it sounds like crap let me know - I've got thick skin.

Thanks in advance. The song is "What would I have said"

You've done a good job translating the emotion of the situation to the music. Has the feel of maybe early Neil Young.
My prayers will be with you. Good luck.

Hey Fprod.....
......after reading your description of what the song was about, I was eager to hear your lyrics. Unfortunately for me, theyre kinda hard to make out. Cool beginnings though, Im looking forward to where you take this. Re: mix..... it gets a little mushy in there. ....something to look at if you take this to the finish.
Nice work fprod.

I agree--bring the vocal up--and--if you can, you gotta go for the volume and shout it out in the right places. My favorite part was the solo at the end--it just has this great tension and emotion.

Very nice FProd-Gotta love real drums-The playing was appropriate as well-Nice tones on all the instruments-Cool solo-nice buildup to it. You had me intrigued with the story behind the song-unfortunately I had a hard time picking out the words :(..Maybe turn up the vox??Or at least a little high end to them-so they cut through the mix better?? Listened to this a few times-really good feel on this -nice job....

checked out your website--of all the names in the world....fecal productions???

There's some good sounds in there and it sounds like this could be a pretty good sounding tune. Ditto on the vocals. They are a little hard to follow. Interesting vocal sound (good). The voice could use a little polish, maybe singing more confidently in some places, but it is an interesting sound.

I think with some spit & polish this could be a great sounding tune. There is already a lot of good stuff happening in there.

Sorry about your gf dude. Can't even imagine what that would be like.

Thanks for listening and for all the responses.
I guess I need more vocals:D.

I've posted a remix with more vocals and hopefully less mush (thanks guernica). It's the first one on the list at http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2146&alid=-1

stratomaster,
fecal productions - my friend who I do most of my recording with has 4 cats, 2 pitbulls, and a pig. A lot more fecal matter gets produced there than good music. :D

flatrock and Jagular,
thanks for your concern. I should have mentioned that she is doing much better. It was a case of things needing to get really bad before they get better. And it's getting better.
