I'm not sure where to post this, so...

I'm looking for a software program that I can type and write sheet music on. I don't care if it takes a keyboard or if I can do it on the typing keyboard.

I just want something I can write the music and hear how it sounds, and change it, and listen again, all in one easy-to-use program.

And if at all possible, I want something FREE.

Anyone know of any downloads?

There's Cakewalk Score, that integrates w/ the program -I think - been awhile since I've used it, but in my opinion Finale is the best - dunno about getting score ware free though...
 
The program you need is available on the http://www.codamusic.com website. It's called Notepad and it's a free, stripped down version of the popular notation program Finale. I've used it and it's not too bad. Wish it allowed input from a MIDI device; it's a little slow using a mouse. But the price is right.

There's also a free tab generation program called RandyTab which is quite reasonable. It's not top of the line, but it is free, which is nice.
