just turned on a new system using asus mb p4b533 p4 2.4 and delta 1010 sound card. question; which system works best with the delta 1010. the reason Im asking is I currently use windows 98se but this new mother board has usb 2.0 and I dont think 98 supports usb 2.0. I dont want to buy a new os but there is a question mark showing up in device manager. it says no drivers are installed for this device. but the cd that came with the mother board has no drivers for 98. only xp or later. will another os be worth it. or just forget the 2.0 incompatibality.and live with the question mark. will this cause me any problems with the 1010 or recording. thanks Tom T.

You are right about Win98 not understanding USB 2, but as USB 2 is (allegedly) backward compatible I expect that the OS should see the ports. The issue with your CD is a bit more profound, but CD drives are awfully cheap, check out www.mwave.com (this isn't a self serving plug, it's just where I buy). Many manufactures also provide additional drivers on their web sites, worth checking out. Of course, Win98 crashes like crazy, so if you could get to something more stable, that would all to the best. Luck!

It gives you the option of installing the 2.0
You dont have to if you dont wanna.
Although I believe XP is the better OS;)
