Hey everyone, I dont understand how you would record more than 8 tracks at once onto your computer when using a board like a mackie 24/8 or 32/8. Would you have to get multiple interfaces like the delta 1010 to record say 12 simultanious tracks? What are the busses used for?

Thanks

Mike

To record 12 independent simultaneous tracks, yes, you need a multichannel interface with at least 12 inputs. Two chained Delta1010s would give you twenty tracks (16 analog and two S/PDIF stereo pairs).

Buses are used to combine signals in various ways. All mixers have at least a stereo bus that you route your mixer channels to. The more buses, the more flexibility you have in signal routing.
