Sup Dudes,

I'm new to this site, and also not too bright,
Just got cool edit and whacked in an echo layla24 sound card ( cost $$ )

I can't for the life of me get the thing to record 8 tracks at the same time!!!

I get it to do some ( with say, 2 and 3 missing, and so on... )

Some of these tracks just will not record sound!! I ve asigned them to what i think are the correct record inputs channels

I'm sure i'm doing something really simple wrong, but just don't know wot it is.

Tha manual sucks! Can anyone help me out at all?????

With the sound card I use, I have to make sure that every input (actually, pairs of inputs) are set up exactly the same way. For example, I was able to record in 1L & 1R, but not in the other 6 channels. It turned out that I had unchecked "Try As WDM" (Options/Device Settings/Wave In -- I think; I'm not at the computer that has AA on it) for the first pair in the input selection window, but had not done so for the others. Once I did that, I had 8 channel input recording enabled. Something similar may be working with your setup. Look at the settings for the channels that work and then set the others the same way.
