Multisampled Drum Samples

I'm looking at some drum sample CDs for my E-Mu E5000 sampler and I have a few questions.

Some say that they are "multisampled with both left and right hand grip, from hard to soft hits." One goes on to say "Each sample has 2 different stereo samples, one is the drum itself (with all the other mics turned on) and the other one is the room/ambient mics."

How can I use this with my sampler and midi drum controller TrapKat?

How you tell the sampler to play a certain sample when you hit a pad soft or to play a different sample when you hit it hard.

I can see how this feature would be great for writing music on a software sampler/music production tool, because you could play and record the song to the sequencer and then go in by hand and switch out samples for soft and hard hits. (I think.)

Here are links to two sample CDs that I'm looking into that offer the above features:

Any feedback would be very helpful. If this post would be better suited in another board please let me know. Thanks!

humm, i'd think most of the appl config would be in the manual, use of soft and hard hits, i've gotten samples from FTP that are what your speaking of, soft and hard hits, i'm reading the DR-008 manual now and am still in the dark though, have you listen to "drums from hell" yet? i'd like to be able to config an appl to do similar drum riffs, seems imposible though...

some drum tech should be along soon, or post this thread in that forum section...
