Hi ya'll,
I'm having massive problems getting cakewalk to work with two sound cards, and I've about come to the conclusion that its impossible. I'm using cakewalk professional 8 and two sound cards, one Yamaha and the other one is a no-name. In the Cakewalk audio options I can select either card, but I can't select both. I'd really like to have two mics going into cakewalk simultaniously. Does anyone know if this is going to be possible? Or am I outta luck? Any help is greatly appreciated-PhattieD

It certainly is not impossible. I have a Delta 66 and a Sound Blaster Live and I use them both all the time, the Live playing the MIDI synth parts, the Delta playing the digital audio parts.

Well, I guess I could clarify myself, my bad. I need to record two audio tracks at the same time, and I don't feel the need to invest in a $300 card. I'm familar with routing MIDI and audio to different cards, but can't get two audio cards running at once. All help is appreciated, thanks-PhattieD

But you should be able to do that. (Of course, you mean one track is assigned to the Yamaha, and another track to the no-name -- not both onto one track at the same time). There must be something about the drivers for one or the other (or both) cards that is causing trouble.

Are your two tracks mono? Either of your soundcards doubtless have stereo line in jacks. You can make a cable (or use a small mixer) to combine two mono signals into the left and right of a stereo miniplug, then record one track from the left side, one from the right side.

yo alchuck i got the same 2 sound cards haha...

its could be just ur sound cards are just that wack and 2 t hings can't play
