Multiple software questions

Depends on what you plan on doing. How many audio tracks, how important is midi, what is your current hardware/computer setup?

Always best to try out the demo of the software first and see if it is worthwhile buying. Demo's are available for steinberg products at: www.steinberg.net

Also demo's for many of the other recording programs available.

You may also want to check out N-Track. It may suit your needs.

What is the limitation with your current software that makes you want to upgrade?

I have a few questions. I am planning to update and get new software. I am using ancient freeware and stuff, such as an old version of cakewalk XP and an old version of Cool Edit. I also have Sound Forge and Acid. Anyways, I am planning on getting Cubase, Recycle and Rebirth. I am looking for any comments on these programs and wondering if they would be a wise investment. I play all kinds of music, from progressive rock and metal, to electronica and industrial. I was wondering if it is worth it to spend all the extra money for Cubase VST/24, or if I should just stick with the standard Cubase. Thanks for the help and info.
