If I run several recording programs on the same machine am I asking for trouble? Can they share plugins and all that? What about CW 9.0 and Sonar?

Does anyone have any horror stories?

I am thinking of installing sonar as a full version and leaving CW 9.0 on the same hard drive. I might want to try another program though, Vegas, Cubase, ect.

I am running a PC with a 1gig P3 chip and a Echo Layla 24/96.

I don't want to shoot my self in the foot.

Thanks

No probs here, and at one time I had almost every popular platform active on my 450 AMD PC. Of course all legal....yeah....right.

yea it should be fine, but i have had problems!

I installed ozone the other day, and then logic audio stopped working. I uninstalled it then it started working. I also have acid, fruity loops, and sound forge installed as well as logic audio 5, and no problems. They all share plugins.

My friend actually brought over cakewalk to show me, and when he installed it, all of the cakewalk plugins were available for other programs to use.

i had a bunch of new plugins in logic and soundforge, it was exciting!
ahah. But generally be careful, sometimes a certain program can set another one off. Typically i only USE ONE at a time. But i see no reason why you couldn't use more, just save.

Just install one then test. if something stops working back up.
