Let's start at the top of the signal chain.
Make sure youre plugged in (with phantom if youre using a condenser mic) to channel 1.
Leave the HPF alone at this point.
Set gain to half way.
Leave eq alone at this point.
Turn down both effects to zero.
Pan left if you're recording in mono (if stereo repeat the above with track 2 as well, with panning to R)
Solo button should be out.
Mute should be out.
Fader(s) should be at 0.
Go over to the right of the mixer. Press 'mix' to in, and if youre tracking, alos press '2tk to mix'.
Make sure headphones are plugged in.
Turn Main mix fader to 0
Make sure your software is ready to receive from tracks 1 & 2.
Tweak your eqs and gain to get a ood signal in, fiddle with the effects.
That should be it.
