i am in need of some help.
I play the guitar but i have absolutely no clue about recording or multi track things. I have an old computer and tried to record onto it. its ok for recording one guitar track but when i try to add another guitar part there is a delay and its all out of time and sounds terrible. its something to do with something called latency i think. i am not really that bothered about recording onto my computer anyway.
what i am looking at is buying a multi track thing such as korg pxr4. what i dont know however is will these things allow me to record a guitar part and then play it back as i play and record a lead part over it and will it stop the delay? I know i sound like i am a dumb ass but i dont want to spend over £200 on something that will be of no use to me. all i want is to be able to get the 2 guitar parts to sound smooth together so i can then maybe send the file to my friend who plays guitar also. my memory is pretty bad so it would help to record things and then listen back as i tend to forget them and i am no good at remembering the riff or solo that i have just made up.
thanks for any help.
