multi-sync....TSR8>DAW>Drum machine

hi, Anybody know if and how one could sync a TSR8 to a DAW to a drum machine? Right now I stripe track 8 for syncing a Roland R8 drum machine.
If I put a digital multitrack running off the striped track, can I somehow "chain" other sequencers to the DAW? I need to sync TWO things to the TSR8. If the DAW is set to slave......how can it be set to master the additional drum machine? I's confooosed. Anybody got any ideas or answers?
I'm sure more than one sequencer can be fed off the TSR8 stripe. Some sort of splitter? Magic black box? Can any stand-alone DAW recieve midi info as well as transmit it at the same time....do they all? The Set Up:

TSR8 >>>>>>Roland VS880 (for example)>>>>>>>Roland R8

Does midi "thru" figure into this? As you can see, I'm not very midi-savvy.

Thanks for any info. Kenton

With those three devices it has to go like this

Tape>>>Roland R8>>>Roland VS-880

The R8 can sync directly to tape via FSK, but the VS-880 cannot. It can only read MTC from a MIDI device.

While the R8 is running as slave to the tape it will also transmit MTC from its MIDI out.

On the VS-880 set the sync source to EXT (External) and choose MTC. It will then be controlled by the R8, which is being controlled by the tape deck.
