I'm looking into purchasing a multi-IO card in the near future, and reading the following on the Cakewalk site has me somewhat confused :
"Please Note: Only SONAR and SONAR XL are capable of record and playback using multiple inputs and outputs. The maximum amount of inputs or outputs that our other programs will use is 2/2. Make sure that the capabilities of the Cakewalk software you own or intend to own are compatible with the audio hardware you are considering."
Seeing as how I've never owned a multi-IO card, I thought I'd ask here : Can Cakewalk 9 record from multiple inputs at once? I was hoping to pipe out individual channels on my Behringer mixer into multiple inputs on a new soubdcard, thereby allowing me to record individual parts of a drum kit onto their own channels (ie: kick on mixer input 1, going into soundcard input 1, recorded in Cakewalk track 1...snare on mixer channel 2, into input 2, recorded onto track 2, etc etc etc.) - bu the above seems to imply I wouldn't be able to use more than 2 inputs or outputs! Can someone who has a set-up similar to the one I described above answer this question? This *seems* like a silly question, but the above statement from Cakewalk seems even sillier!
