Is having an OS set up for mulitiple users bad for recording?

Only if you don't like their music? :D Seriously though your question isn't clear to me... are these multiple users all recording? Or are you just worried that other people using your system will somehow adversely affect your Sonar work?

I'm using XP Pro and PA9.03, and was wondering if having the OS set up for multiple users, not being all logged on at the same time, will adversely affect my work; as in dropouts and such.

I hope that's more specific:)

Thanks

If users are accessing your hard drive over a network while you are recording, it would certainly affect performance, especially on the same hard drive you are recording to. How much degradation would depend on your recording requirements vs. the degree of shared resource usage.

You can just enable/disable network while you record by checking the icon thingy in network properties. There you can also enable an icon on your startbar systray that shows when your networking is active.
