MTV instrumentals

Just letting you guys know about the new MTV show "Yo Momma" coming out in January. I don't know to much about it, but we got some tracks on the show. I'm about ta see if our tracks are on the first show. If so, it's on! And I got any of you who got some hot tracks! Showing some love. We all got ta stick together...

Here's how I got this connection. It's kind of funny. I've been grinding for 8 years. Then 3 months ago, I decided to search on Craigslist in the New York section. I live in California, so I never searched out of the state area. Well, I typed in MTV. And there was a post for submitting instrumentals for a new show. Well, I thought why not try. MTV like the stuff and the rest is history. It's been a strong connect.

I'm telling you this to show you that stuff can come from anywhere. You can get connects from major labels and never get a hit. You can know someone who works at a record company and never get a hit. But, you can search on Craigslist and get a hit that's fire. :D

That's dope, fam. My man Sundance who did a few tracks on my last LP has had tracks on Room Raiders, Real World, Pimp My Ride, and a couple other shows... He's also had some stuff on Oprah..lol.. crazy. But yeah, he's worked with Lil Jon, David Banner, Stat Quo and Dre, and a few other major figures too...

Keep grinding man, and you'll get it out there!
 
That's whats up. Congrats on your placement. I just got a joint on a Baby Phat commercial myself. We definatly need to support and encourage each other. Believe me, there's enough work out there for everyone to eat.

This is good. I know we all got some kinds of connects and opportunities and I for one don't mind sharing. Reading this thread makes me want to step my beat game up a little bit more. Money'll come around, I just do it because I like creativity.
 
Ya, I'm into producing for the creativity also. But, if ya can get money and eat off it, all the better. I see a lot of creativity on this forum. And you guys don't give up and want to always go to the next level. That's way I show love and respect...

You seen a listing for that on Craig List? Damn, I didn't know they had shit like that on there. I'd definitely love to do something like that. I got beats on local stations, but MTV placement would be real nice for the resume.

Craigslist is where people can sell stuff, chat, look for jobs and such. Didn't think I could get a big connection there. :D

I think is was all luck. I searched again and couldn't find any listings. Man, just made it. :eek: You never know...

Ya, I sent the CD and form to MTV, but never heard back. The connect I found was different. The connect actually does music for film and tv shows, not just MTV. I'm glade I found this connect because when you just send stuff, it's not 100% concrete. Try to contact someone one on one and make sure your work gets picked up.

Oh ya, make sure you have publishing and the tracks are published before you send it. They won't take it if you don't have publishing. MTV has to make cue sheets for the show with your publishing info. If they see your songs aren't published, your tracks will never make it to air...
 
i think you all should try and hit up the video game market also.
 
Wow! I heard our tracks on MTV "True Life" Last night! I thought I would never hear it... If you guys got ASCAP, I can help you submit... :D But, make sure you bring the heat!
 
COngradulations Beat that has got to be a Great feeling . That is what I like to hear from grinders in the Camp Great look too looking out for your peeps in here !
