I'm looking to purchase a Zoom MRS-802 8-Track Recorder, but i want to make sure that i will be able to send my songs/back up files from the mrs-802 to my computer. I'm using Win98, and not looking to upgrade my computer any time soon.

I was originally thinking about getting the Boss BR-864 or the Tascam DP-01fx, but both of them require atleast win98SE when using the USB ports because of the mass storage device drivers included as part of their structures.

I want to be able to record my music on an 8-track and then send the songs to my computer for burning CD's. I know that you can get the MRS-802 with a CD drive/burner, but i'd rather not pay the extra 200 bucks when i already have a cd burner on my computer.

Anyone know if the USB port(which is bought seperately for the MRS-802) is compatible with Win98? Or should i be looking at a cheaper recorder that records to flash cards?

Also, does the MRS-802 come with an AC adapter? or do you have to buy that seperately?

Thanks in advance, :)
Dave

Full USB functionality in Windows began in Win98 SE. I doubt that you'll have any success in Win98 (first edition).

Sorry.
