Hi,

there just picked up my red baby 2day..!!

I want to record from my MPC2000XL into the Mr8 in stereo..so in input a & B

then

do I record it on track 1 and 2

or should i slect 5/6?

what's the best option?

Hi mate
i do mine on 1 and 2 too.
but ive never yet had anywhere near enough space to bounce the other tracks to 7 and 8.
Id been recording as much as i could,,,
then recording it all onto Mini Disc,,,
Then scrubbing those tracks,,,,
Putting the MD track back onto 1 and 2 and continuing.
yes,,what a procedure that is.
Ive since got N-TRacks,,
but ive ben a really lazy bastard and done nothing since before christmas.
Good luck with it all.:D

hey kaymir

guess it kind of depends what you are going to do with the tracks after recording them. i don't go to computer, so i dont need the mix to 7/8 capability. so i use 7/8 for my drum tracks. it's just easier.

but ultimately, you should get the exact same results by using any of the pairs, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, or 7/8. also becasue you bounce digitally, that should have no effect either on sound quality.

my only advice is put them in the same place each time so you get used to where that are. it's easier come mix down time.

good luck

thnx hombres!

ill stick with the 1 & 2.. and records the others stuff on 3 & 4, 5/6

this is enough tracks for me cuz i dont track every single track..ill just bundle them op! some tracks on my MPC just contains 3 samples or some!

I love this red baby..the simplicity is just great!!
