Nakatira

That Norwegian Bastard
Some of you might remember me bringing in this one before.

Since that time, I`ve joined a new group were called Munchausen.

We decided to re-record this song, and we finished all tracking today, I couldent resist trying to mix it this night.
I think my mix have a few issues, and since my ears and brain is fried from a weekend with tracking and drinking.

I would love some feedback on how it sounds

Thanks :)

Excellent performance and tracking on this classic Nak tune.....Very 70's rock band vibe captured on this. Several bands come to mind including Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin....

I find no problems with anything - this is a great cut!!!!!

:D :) :D :)

I haven't heard it before and there is no way to make compare.
Anyway I liked it a lot. It's amazing.
Well done. (Where do you live/play in Norway?)

Wow that sounds awesome man!! Only nit would be that the drums are missing some sparkle, thats about it. Is that an original song? Great vocalist.

Dude, very nice take. Very enjoyable to listen to. I haven't heard the original and don't know what that was like.

This one sounds really cool. The only recommendation I would have would be to add a little boost in the 5-10kHz area in the EQ section.

Well, I'd say pass everything thru it except the vox. So on the master bus before putting the vox in. :) Would make it sound more lively. :)

Ido, your forgot to mention Rainbow among those bands!

Thanks a Bunch for those nice comments guys.

Ido; I`m a huge fan of all those bands, and capturing 70`s sounds is one of my soul purposes in life, thank you ever so much.

Sikter; I live at a place called Stord on the west coast of Norway, were not started gigging yet, but we hope to do shows spread of the country, if were able to.

Space; thanks a bunch Bro, glad you liked it. the drums might be a bit daft its a hard compremise when your`e going for that dry dead 70`s sound, I`m still working on getting there.
Its is an Original tune, I made it about one year ago.

and thanks for the compliment on my vox

Bubba; I have to agree with you on it being bassy, sorta half way through I started eq`ing a bit, but not enough.
I will try your suggestion, thanks man

Freaking awesome!!!! This is Heep Purple or Uriah Tull, man. I can't get enough of this tune. It's so 70's that it's NOW!. I agree with Bubba about the EQ. Just needs a bit of high's...Or maybe a litte less low-mids. But I'd be scared too cut too much of that as that's what gives it it's vintage warmth. The vocals are incredible, Nak. Really really top-notch.

Thanks Rami;

I really tried getting the bottom tight, and being that I like guitars dark drums dark and bass dark I kinda realize I need to change habbits a bit :)
I really hope I can save it with a fair amount of eq.
thanks for listening Rami

Did you know that Mr. Moonlight is also the name of a cover song the Beatles did on one of their albums...Beatles for sale...1964? Yah...really. I have never heard it, or should I more correctly say, I can't remember hearing it...but I thought the name sounded familiar, so I Googled and wah-lah!!! Okay, trivia-google session is over. :D

Nak...I love this song...It actually reminds me of Rami style in the intro...has a "Who" feel (ex:3:57) ...Robert Plant in vox..just a great eclectic feel, yet still has original tags on it. I do have a partiality to this style of music and it's era. I'm just an old hippy....but I ain't dirty...I like my showers and bathes. ;)

I love this just the way it is. Sounds as it would, if done live, one take. Maybe it is done that way.

I wouldn't change anything about it Nak!!

Who has the fantastic vox ?

True :)

The riff & melody reminds me of Free more than anything else - not as raw blues but in that vein.
this is a good preliminary mix.
The riff needs some sort of lift don't know what - probably volume as it's at the same vol as the instrumentation under the vocals - it needs to muscle itself up a little in the riff passage.
The has a great vibe to it & great sounds.
Well done - I look forward to hearing the mix develop.
Oh, if your band couldn't make a gig & sent another band to sub for you & play you tunes would that be Munchausen By Proxy?

Hey True;; Thanks for the positive feedback.
Us Norwegians gotta stick together you know :D

I`m glad you think it sounds good, as I know all the bands and shows you`ve seen, most of them my heros.
You surely know what the 70`s about  , and clean hippies rule :D

Btw; Nak is on Vox, again thanks.

Here`s to ya

I know what you mean ray, We did a double tracking of the riff, and that caused me to be a bit defensive on the guitar levels.
Its gonna be great experimenting with a set of fresh ears.

thanks for you input

Vocals really shine, Nak...very cool. Nice job on the performance man...

Music could use a bit more snap...I think the drums need a bit of air...just to sound a bit fuller. A little more beef on teh guitars should still sound vintage, but again, fill it out a little more. I think maybe getting a little hi's would be good, and not cutting the lows...as Rami stated, that gives it some cool sound.

Nice one man, and can't wait to hear a newer mix. :D

Very cool....very 70's. What can I say.......rest your ears a while then polish it up! Really liked the tune!!!!!!

Cool vox on this, your singer has a classic rock voice. I'd like to hear the drums slam more. The drummer is really good. Everything's mixed well, except it sounds like there's a blanket in front of the speakers. Nice riffs too. This song is really well put together

love the tune dude.....put some more up on clicks....pls!!

the 70's thing today.....jeeess...i was just checkin out that king crimson cover now this......i think i'm out of my league here.

great tune, complicatedly interesting...
great vocals and lead fills.

arrangement showed some impressive skill, luv it...like a...

oh i'll jus shut up now.

....

I remember the first one, and I think this one is even better! I was surprised to see Mr. Moonlight in the title, and wondered if it was an old thread brought back from the dead.

Thanks Dogman, I will be doing some changes, I started it today, not finished yet.
In fact I`ve been messin with the drums for a couple of hours, trying to spread the frequencies a bit, as I found most of the rythm section a bit stuck in the low end kinda crashing.

Will work on thos guitars as well.

Thanks man, for allways giving me feedback, I really apreciate it
