I would like to back up my recorded stereo wav files and individual track files on cd as I do not trust computer hard drives in the long term. I've been burned too many times. Should I burn audio files of my individual songs, or should I back them up as data files. I want to be able to get these files back onto my computer, or into the MR-8 at a future date.

Eventually, I want to compile all my songs onto a single cd, but for now I want a reliable back up for. Any suggestions.

I would save the data, that way if you need to tweek it a bit here n there later, you got it there to work with.

I agree with bd especially when it comes to the individual track files.

What I've been doing is, I make separate folders for each song I work on, then, separate folders inside each for all the variations I end up with, then, I burn the complete folder for each song on to a cd, including the final wav file, that way everything is archived, at least as long as the cd exists!

Do you do the whole thing as data or all data except for the final wav file?
