alright so i dont know to much about this thing. Ive never owned anything like this before. But im tired of paying to use a studio for demo crap i wont even use.

Ok so i been reading up on this and it seems like you only get 3 mintues of recording on this thing when you use all 8 tracks? What if you only use one TRACK? how long would that record for? is it any different at all?

also couldnt i just record one track at a time with this thing and dump it all into something like acid pro and just keep doing that over and over? would that MESS with the sound quality at all? sorry if my questions are dumb but i never used anything like this at all.

one more question im going to be using a few different keyboards and drum machines. (motif, novation k station, nord lead, korg em1) does that stuff work pretty well with this device seems like most people are doing guitars and stuff??

thankyou..

With the memory card supplied you get approx 28 min of recording time. Yes, if you only use 1 track you will get the whole 28 min. You can record a couple of tracks and then bounce them on to one track and save memory that way also. Yes you can dump to a PC and also save like that. You can also upgrade and buy bigger memory cards. This machine is very drum machine / keyboard friendly.

memory

once again make sure do use the delete unused track functon, it deleates the extra saved version of the song that is needed for the undo function

n track works to dump files to pc im sure many other programs work also

I think Fast and Loud got a bigger card with his MR-8. Mine only has approx. 25 minutes of recording time?

Another option is to use a MIDI sequencer for your synths and drum machines, and sync that to the MR-8, which could be used for vocals, etc. That way your MIDI stuff doesn't take up any space on the MR-8.
