I'M BLESSED.......
When I play my keys via midi thru my MPC and record it, it always playback with a piano sound regardless of what synth type I choose. Is that a Keyboard/Midi issue or do I need to make adjustments to the MPC. I can't figure this out for nothing and it is frustrating the Hell out of me!

the midi channel has to be changed on the mpc sounds like it's on channel 1, you have to assign channels to midi i believe but don't quote me on that, i would check the mpc manual for that one

I'll try it!
The manual is actually pretty good, I'm just very unfocused right now.......If that don't work, I'll dig back into the Manual..

Good Look

Didn't work!
Could be my punk ass Yamaha..................

Anyone else?

On the tracks you use for your keyboard, the Pgm: field should say “Off” to stop that from happening.

BTW, the issue you’re having is with Program Change (PC) messages, which you actually might wanna use. They let you save your sound choices as part of the sequence on the MPC.

I’m assuming that right now in the Pgm: field you have “No.1”, right? With that setting, when you playback the sequence, the MPC is gonna tell the keyboard to use program (aka patch, preset, sound) #1. On any GM compatible synth/keyboard, program #1 is a piano sound.
