mp3 song death

So I recording these songs on nuendo...

when I go to convert them to .wav's or .mp3's, they shrivel up into thin shells of the recordings they once were. when i burn a .wav with a high sample rate to cd, the same thing happens. I'm sure there's a simple solution...could someone explain it to me? thanks.

no easy answer on this.
"shrivel up" doesn't mean that much to me, but i'd be willing to bet that the problem is in
A your monitors
B the acoustics of the room you mix in or,
C maybe you just need more practice. (we all need more practice)

If your mixes sound strange everywhere but on the system you mixed them on, the problem is probably with the mix
