mp3 mono in Audition 3.0

I'm recording some audio books which I've been asked to supply as mp3 files, mono, 192 kbps.

However, Audition 3.0 doesn't seem to allow me to do this. The highest it will allow me to save at is 128 kbps in mono. In stereo, I can save as 192kbps (and higher), but I actually want mono. I am using CBR and mp3 (not mp3pro).

I asked the people I am supplying to about this and their reply was "We prefer mono files but accept stereo in such cases".

Any thoughts?

mix it to 2 hannel mono & leave it at that.
192 for audio book is pretty low fi - raw voice needs much better treatment than that. I don't listen to anything at that low a rate if I can help it.
