MP3 Line-in

I am buying an MP3 player and one of the things I want to do with it is record songs while my choir is singing so I can learn the words. Many of the MP3 players I am looking at have a "line-in" feature. Does that mean that I can plug in a clip on microphone to pick up the singing of the choir? I don't really care about the quality of the recording, just want to hear the words so I can learn the songs.

It depends on the MP3 recorder. Make sure you get one that does allow you to hook up a mic. Most of the MiniDisc types work best for recording. You will probably need to use a high impedance mic with a mini plug (or use adapters). Sony makes some cool stereo mics for that purpose.
