Mp3 Hosting? Can I get it free with out having to have there site up?

Hey Im building my bands website, I wanna put up our mp3s.
My question is, Can I have it so they can just click on The song at my site and download it rather then I having to link to mp3.com or someone else? If so how who why and were?
Because I have looked all over and I cant just enter the url that pops up with a down load to link to because mp3.com is retarded.

Don't overlook the upside of MP3.com

If you have enough space granted to you by your internet host, you could just upload them there and have a link on your site.

I can't figure out why you wouldn't want to put at least a few tunes on MP3.com. What is there to lose? If you want people to listen to your music, take advantage of every avenue. I put my stuff everywhere that lets me.

They offer 100mb is that decent and am I gonna get in trouble for having mp3's on that type of server?

Tough to say...

I don't know if that's enough space. I don't know how many tunes you're planning on posting, I don't know the size of those tunes. I wouldn't think that you'd get in trouble posting MP3's as long as you own the rights to those songs. Are they your songs, or are they cover tunes? It's really tough for me to say because I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with your site.

Don't get me wrong, I think you should have your own site, but I still don't know why you don't want to post them on MP3.com as well. You said they were retarded. Why? What is the problem you're having with them?

Ok I have three songs.
They are each about five minutes.
I want it so I can just have the people that visit my site can just click on the song and it down loads rather than them having to go to mp3.com or some other site.

An MP3 that's around 5 minutes long sampled at 128k and 44100hz is roughly 5mb. Higher rates mean a larger file, so keep that in mind. Assuming you have 3 tunes that size, that's around 15mb.

Create a hyper-link to them on your page and people will be able to grab them.
