Moving already recorded tracks in reaper

Hello all. I am sorry but i did search for this topic but and i mean i am truely technology challenged. My question is. I have 8 tracks which i recorded in reaper. Two live guitar tracks and some vst tracks and two midi tracks. It seems because I am so new to digital tech, i now want to add more or another track to the intro and move every other track simultaneously to keep it in sync. I did try ripple All tracks and yes they moved together BUT. When add a new track and add the instrument, the song is still starting at the original time marker of say 2.1.00. I globally or ripple moved the original tracks to 5.1.00. All the moving worked but when i arm the new track hit record to add to the intro the original song still plays at 2.1.00 AND then again at 5.1.00 so now it sounds just crazy. Im 53 and im seriously challenged at digital recording. Im sorry i dont mean to upset anyone but what am i doing wrong? I found ripple threads but my situation i couldnt find. Give me a chance if at all possible and im sure in time ill figure out the rules better.

In the track window, right-click and drag to select all of your media items. Then you can left-click and drag to move them all together. You can turn on snap-to-grid if you want to make sure that they all start on a beat, or turn it off for finer control over where they are placed.
 
To insert blank space before recorded tracks, select an 'area (on timeline) equal to the amount of time you want to add. Then there is a drop-down to 'insert blank space' (sorry I'm at work right now, can't remember which area the crop-down option is).

Yes, it's under "Insert."

You can just rope around a group of clips and drag, but your markers and envelope points won't move with it. Easier to add blank space in front.

If you haven't discovered the "region" feature yet, go look into it. Basically, you can highlight a section of your song on the timeline, right click, and select "turn section into region" (or something like that). It turns that time selection into a unit which you can drag and drop, copy or duplicate, etc. And all the formatting, markers, envelope points, etc. move with it.

By far the simplest way to build up an arrangement.
 
You can also just right-click on the the time selection you made. The option to "Insert blank space in time selection" is there, too.
