MOTU Set Up

I have a MOTU 2408 8 ins/outs
The Mic is connected to the Voicemaster....
The VoiceMaster to the Mixer on track 8
Track 8 has the Voicemaster and two Qtr Inch cables in/out
connected in the back panel.

I can get Sound out from any other track comming out of the
PC to the Soundcard and out the Micxxer. The mIc works Perfectly, but its just not recording on to My CPU (cool edit pro)
It's not even going through the soundcard at all.

In the settings of the MOTU soundcard Bank A: it's on A-DAt
and Outputs and Inputs are set to: From CPU


on Cool Edit Pro
all tracks are Set to the right Channels
and all....


stil it wont record

why?

it's crucial

I have a 2408 and I can't get the i/o's from CPU????
The settings you reffering to aren't they for sync???

Check your settings and tekst.

What type of ins/outs are you trying to use?

1) Analog i/o's - 1/4 inch cables going i/o of mixer


2)In the Pci-324 Console Software it ask me Bank A: i have ADAT
as well on Bank B and Bank C, underneath it asks me
Enable Inputs / Output Source I have "From Computers" on all Tracks and Banks.



3) My mic/pre-amp is connected to track 8 on the mixer
I have the i/o's on track 8 going straight to the 2408
Also track 8.....On cool Edit pro i have it to record on track 8 aswell....but im not getting any signal comming in through the soundcard. Not sure if its a wiring problem wich I highly doubt or is it a software problem in the PCI324 console


I can't record

Any help will be highly apreciated partnah.

I have a PCI 424 and the Motu 2408 Mk3.
The settings you made don't sound familiar to me

Do you make these settings in the software or on the 2408???

With my 2408 source means ADAT/TDif/Analog or SPDif.

I do my assignments as follows:

1. Bank A/B/ and-or C source: Analog/TDif/SPDif/ and-or ADAT or Dissabled
2. Clock: Int/PCI/Word/LTC/Video/Digital
3. Frequency: 44.1/48/88.2/96 kHz
(4. If needed I can bounce the signals)
5. Set inputs and outputs in recording software

All the above settings can be made in the PC or, on the Motu if you use it as a stand alone unit (not connected to PC).
If your case you have to make these settings in Cool Edit Pro. I use cubase and if I want to change anny of these settings the controll pannel for the Motu pops up.

I don't know Cool Edit so well but you also have to set inputs and outputs in order to get everything to work.

I hope this is helpfull to you. Like I said I have a different Motu I hope you'll be ok now.
