i am in need of info concerning the Motu PCI-424 card. i have to replace my original motu PCI-424 card which is the older version of the card(made before 2003). My computer has only one regular PCI slot open and i'm wandering if either the newer ones: PCIe-424 or the PCIX-424 will work in the available slot that i have(regular PCI).

Hi mate.
Try this:
MOTU.com - PCI-424 Compatibility

The PCI-e cards won't fit in PCI slots.
I had to ditch the Delta 1010 when I got my newer Mac for that reason. M-Audio/Avid don't support this device anymore and didn't bring out a PCI-e version of the card.
But I'm very happy with the MOTU 424 and their converter interfaces. Nothing to complain about so far!

you know i asked this question to someone from Motu and He just responded to me that the PCI-e-424 will fit and work inside of the regular PCI slot on my computer. it sounds very unlikely. im not sure if he just trying to make a sale or what but if this is true, it would make my life so much easier. So "Ben" from Motu, you better not be lying...lol

Hey sel,
Check out PCI and PCI-e on wikipedia.

To my knowledge PCI and PCI-e are physically different ports, but look at the pictures and be sure.
