MOTU for Adat transfer

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a Motu 2408 MkII to transfer
up to 16 Adat tracks at once, to my Intel 900mhz Celeron,
384mb ram computer. Is anyone doing this successfully? Will I also need the Motu Timepiece or will the 2408 transfer the tracks, in sync, on it's own.

No need for the Timepiece.

The 2408 will work like a champ all on its own. Now if you're thinking about an external word clock generator, that wouldn't be a MOTU midi timepiece but something like the Ardsync or Lucid GenX6. You wouldn't need either one just to make transfers in and out of the computer. I personally clock my system with a GenX6.

I'm just planning to track with the Adats, transfer
to computer for editing/mixing and s/pdif out to the
masterlink. Hopefully the Motu will do the trick!!
