MOTU 2408 MKII & RME Octamic D not working together?

Just curious if any of you have the same setup and if anybody can help me.
I've posted this allready on several forums, but I'm not getting any response.

First of my MOTU 2408 MKII
I'm running Mac os X 10.4.11
The control PCI panel:
Clock source: PCI424 Internal
Bank A: Analog 1-8
Bank B: ADAT in 1-8

My RME octamic is like this:
PIN 1 DOWN (Word Clock), PIN 2 (EXTERNAL), PIN 3, 4, 5 & 6 are UP (OFF)

I've got an ADAT cable & BNC Cable between the units.

The ADAT IS in RME Main and in ADAT IN Bank B on the MOTU Unit.
The BNC is from MOTU OUT to BNC in on the RME.

Still I get pops and cracks. RME isn't reachable for any help, tried to contact them allready 3 times through mail the last week. Same with MOTU, their tech support is constantly not available, or in use, so I can't get a hold of them either.

I'm starting to get desperate :-(

You do not need the word clock, adat has a built in clock.
Have you tried just with adat?
Bingo!!!

My experience hooking up this unit with a MOTU Midi Time Piece, two Tacam desks (TDIF), a Mackie HDR (ADAT), and a whole bunch of seperate digital devices (SPDIF) was to set the sync to ADAT on the two MOTU pieces and than slave everything off that... through what ever output was required... even using the wordclock out as a source for downstream devices.

The documentation is not good around digital clocking, but I'm fairly confident that you can't use a seperate clock source for ADAT with MOTU

You may have to set up the RME to read its closck source as WordClock or external. It sound like they are both using their own clocks. Usually you have to specify what their clock source is.
