Another one for my dtb CD :)

The uke was hard to hear in the beginning but it seemed to come out more as the song went on. Also struggled hearing the harmonics... I love the organ in the background but it to was kinda' hard to hear. What are you using for the organ parts?

If you have a pc with a decent sound card Native Instruments make a great B3 imulator that's the best I've ever heard. I normally hate PC based sound sources but the NI B4 is fantastic. All you would need is a controller which it sounds like you already have.

You Da' Man !! I love this kinda music by the way and your voice is perfect for it.

sounds good dtb!

turn up that organ, and lower the vox a bit.. they sound good for the most part, but as you said, loud..

I thought something was a little out of tune, but its probably just me if no one else mentions it..

always enjoy kickin' back for a smoke, and checkin' out a dtb tune..

always easy on the ears..

I noticed it on the uke. especially between 00:24 and 00:30. But I thought it was just me :)

I'm really sorry for the vocals being loud, but it sounds much better on my system. That's one question I have to everyone here. What kind of system do you use to listen to the tunz in the clinic? I normally just use my puter speakers, unless it's something I want to download and save. Then I use my studio system. But I do have some nice puter speakers. At least IMO the tunz I hear in the clinic mostly sound great on'em.

And maybe I wasn't clear in my other threads, and it's all my fault, but there is no "uke". But I thought it was kinda funny that more than one person hears a "uke". I am guessing that the low end of the mandolin rythum sounds "ukeage".

I also think I'm going thru a phase with this singging volume. And that surely comes from using the v67 I got. I can hear myself so well, along with the other acoustics, and it all being crisp and clean, I just can't help it. But I'm slowly seeing the light. And you folks help by hearing this, and commenting with suggestions that I'm keeping.

I like to get wasted and listen to my tunz real loud. And they usually hold up to the volume. I think this is a good thing IMO. So with all this said, I continue.

rusty digits, hey man, this tune has a lot going on in it. It can make it hard to hear everything. The keys are a casio unit I bought my wife this year, and Bob, a keyboard pal, just picked this sound out and used it. We tried a few more but we both kinda liked this one. I don't use my pc for any playing or recording. I haven't gotten around to that yet. Thanks for your comments. I always enjoy them.

And B., I believe it's the "uke", I couldn't help it, he he he he he he. No it's the mandolin. I think I had a unison or two just out. Good ears dude. Or maybe it's what you're smoking. he he he he Thanks alot friend, for the listen.

rusty #2, he he he You smoking what B. is smoking.

David, OK. Later. Thanks.

jeff, any comment from you is always welcome. BUT THERE'S NO UKE. he he he he he he he, I guess it could pass as one though.
I wanted to let Bob try something on the keys with one of my tunz. I'm always doing stuff on his friends and his stuff. A little return favor. And I'm having a great time. These last few tunz I've put up here are all fairly new. Timing has been good. A new mic, and some time to track, with all this nasty weather we've had for the last couple months.

Thanks again friends, later

dan, this is my favorite from you so far!!!!!! i really like the feel.
the doubled vox in the chorus, sound great!! damn man, you have to do this tune next year!!!!!!! i love it!!

thanks' man

peace

Dude! This is great! The organ is a real nice touch. When the bass goes into the stride it's just too cool for school. A very few mix gigs; back the vocal down just a bit and the organ and mandolin up.

very nice song..........great acoustic sounds...........my only suggestion would be on the choruses....it sounds like you are just doubling the parts, and i think that they could use harmonies rather than straight doubles........just a suggestion........great work

Oh .. its not a Uke.. :)

Yikkkes.. I feel stupid :)

I dont know anything about guitar :(

Another great one!
Man DTB,your voice and playing are really great.
You inspired me to buy a 67.

Great mic.
Talk about relism,I was recording with it the other day and one of the cats banged up against the door.
I kept stopping to see who the hecks at the door, till I relised it was on the track!
I keep thinking my speakers are on when I playback/record too.

I dig the writing on this, very soulful.
Mando is sweet.(or is that a uke?):D

I used to use my computer speakers to listen, their crap though.
Just started using headphones,much better.

Really enjoyed your tune,thanks,
Pete

thanks again fender, I hope to bring it all to Conn.

Track, I'm working on it. Thanks for the comments.

powder, that's something I really want to try. Thanks.

muzeman, yeah I keep hearing the damn phone ring. Stop, take the headphones off, listen, nothing, put HP back on, start again, and shit, the damn phone is ringging again. he he he he he

Thanks guys for the listen. One day I'll have the vocals right, each instrument in it's place, bass will be just right, and I'm buying a damn "uke".

dtb

yeah... t'was probably me who mistook the mando for a uke... in some past thread... :o and yer laffin yer ass off still ;)

 :(

Ya know, I'm hearing some Grateful Dead in this toon... somehow... the A, G, F thing... prolly...

Very cool... liked the ambience, and the settled, chill-out feelin' to it.

Chad

hey Chad, he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he
just kidding. Man I could see how this happened. Like I said earlier, the mando low end has a "uke" kinda sound. But I'm pretty sure most of us here don't hear much uke music. I just watched the movie "The Jerk" a while back, and laughed my ass off at Steve Martin playing the uke.

jus chillin,

dtb

Actualy I think I'm the 'uke' guy. on one of dtb's other songs I said, "Is that a ukelele? Cool" :D But it does kinda sound like one sometimes.
Have you heard Martin Mull's "White Man Blues" done on a uke with a baby bottle as a slide? Sounds just like an old delta blues thing.

dtb, I think this is one of your better songs....and they're all good so that's saying something.

"Woke up this mornin', my Mercedes was gone":D :D :D

:D:D:D I can't believe someone else knows that song. :D:D:D
You know Martin Mull has a bunch of musically awesome albums. If you don't have 'em let me know and I'll get you a CD of them.

Hey dtb,

I really like your produced stuff (it's been a while since I checked in and back then, all your stuff was live and raw. But then again, that is what made me a fan of yours:confused: :D  )

Vocals sound a little "punchy" Are you using a mic pre? Would this help? I don't know but, the thought that it would came climbing up my neck and out of my head.

Nice, moody tune. Had me singing along.

peace,
Theron.
