Just thought I'd pass this on. This is for anyone with only 4 tracks. I was messing around with my stuff today and decided I'd record over an already used mixdown tape. Well I had left the volume knobs turned up and the track was in stereo on only 2 channels! So I explored this a little. The volume levels as far as I can tell aren't as loud. But then I recorded a drum set in stereo (first time ever on the porta02!) then mixed it with the others then stuck that mixed tape into the portastudio. It worked having everything in stereo. Then I could have 2 more tracks to layer the guitar parts. I can have now infinate stereo tracks on my portastudio with out any (couldn't hear atleast) deteriorating quality. Has anybody else tried or done this?.
