more inputs for a delta 44?

I am currently recording with a Delta 44 and Cakewalk. The Delta only has 4 Line inputs. I was wondering if it were possible to get more than 4 simultaneous inputs going by hooking up a mixer or digital 8-track like a roland vs-880 to the first two inputs or so, and still have all the tracks controllable on cakewalk. I would like to get at least 6 inputs going for a decent drum recording.

That is NOT possible. For every track you want to control simultaneously and be able to control in Cakewalk, you need a separate input. It's as simple as that.
 
from what i hear, 1010LT is worse sounding than delta 44. true?
note: LT, not the 1010.
 
i thought i heard the delta 1010lts and 44 converters are the same but the 1010lt is unbalanced?
