What's up with all the hiss on Hendrix's records? I've heard other recordings from the same period that aren't as noisy. I guess this was pre Dolby NR. It could be that the hiss is coming from Jimi's amp. It's not necessarily a bad thing, in fact it sounds better than a lot of the sterile, perfect recordings of modern pop.

I guess, it's because Jimi was a masterfully noisy player.
