Here it is, I recorded this one today, It took about 20 takes, and it still isn't perfect. Lol I did my best but I hope someone enjoys it.

Steve Howe is a absolute beast of a guitar player. I recently saw him play this on the the Yes 50th Anniv Fragile tour. For a guy pushing 80 yrs old, he was simply amazing.

Yeah, he is amazing Rich. It's funny, I can play really cleanly and then hit the record button and my nimbleness flies out the window. Lol

I know that feeling. While practicing in my recliner, I can whip through a solo, remember exactly where to go. Then I get together with my friends and my mind will go completely blank! The same thing happens with lyrics.

I have to stop thinking and just let thing flow.

I hear ya Rich. I have a bit of attention issues, so as I was playing it those 20 times or so, each time in my head I was like "don't forget the part that goes....." or "dang, I hope I don't have to try it again, my fingers are getting raw".

Steve Howe recorded the original in one take - over the last 15 years or so he hasn’t matched that level of virtuosity. -
so take heart - I would play it in sections and then knit it together -

Trust me I understand the methodology - but the reality for me is I often have to stitch things to make them work.

Trust me I understand the methodology - but the reality for me is I often have to stitch things to make them work.

Most of the songs that we have done are containing tracks that usually done in one pass. Might take a few tries, but basically we record the tracks start to finish. There are some exceptions. But for this song, I really wanted it in one pass, regardless of the number of passes it would take. I finally stopped and kept this version, because my fingers were getting a bit sore.
