Monster Cable, Etc. Better? Worth the Cost?

For real? Has it been documented somewhere? I don't have any of their products (and never will), so I can't test it myself. That's horrible if it's true.

I've measured them myself. But I seem to recall them advertising it as a feature (go figure) to make their guitars work with jacks that were a little, ah, bent out of shape.

Last weekend I played an outdoor acoustic gig and the soundman didn't have enough mics so he gave me a monster cable to plug in my acoustic w/pickup. When the night was over I had a hell of a time getting the cable out of the jack. Neve had a problem with any other cable.

I've got some unbalanced 1/4" Monster cables that have outlived other cheap cables. (maybe not if I bought enough cheaper cables for the equivalent price) They came with some other used gear I bought. They are solid. And as others have said, they don't sound any better than the cheap ones. I don't think I could bring myself to buy them outright, but they have served me well.

I think Monster cable has a lifetime replacement warranty, if one of their cables goes bad you take it in to the store and they replace it. So in that respect Monster is better.

So does Planet waves cable..so does mogami..
I will never buy another Monster cable again. they are corporate bullies that deserve to be put out of business!! Have a look at these!!
