mono with stereo cables/connectors

Hi

If i connect my RME fireface400 (two mono outs) to my monitors using two seperate stereo cables (with stereo jacks) will that be a problem?

actually that would be good. both units probably have ballanced ins and outs.

Those are called TRS cables. (for tip, ring, sleeve) They are not 'stereo' cables unless they are carrying a stereo signal. In your case, they would be balanced cables. (assuming the inputs and outputs are balanced)

Never confuse the type of cable with the signal it is carrying.
