Okay so I've got a great mixing desk but the monitor outputs are mono. Is there anyway i could get a lead that would bridge the mono to make a stereo output

Not sure a brige will,

i've seen on must boards a SUM FROM STEREO TO MON componet, but never a SUM FROM MONO TO STEREO componet. ( once it's mono there is no going back i believe )

I think it can't be done, anyone

This doesn't even make any sense - Why on Earth would there be a "stereo" monitor output on anything?

(Perused again)

Do you understand the difference between mono and stereo...? Stereo is two discrete mono outputs - A MONO left and a MONO right. It's the difference in the signals that make it stereo. You have two MONO ears. Different sounds reaching your ears at different times make it "stereo."

A headphone output - Two discrete mono signals running down two discrete wires (plus common) in a three-wire cable.

I think Tom G is a little confused! Tom - you mention outputS (plural) - one should be left and one should be right, no? What "mixing deck" are you talking about?
