Monitors

I just got my Monitors yesterday and I was reading the Manual it says Keep Monitors 1 and 1/2 aways from All walls. Why is this?

Because putting them close to walls and corners will change the bass response of the speaker. It will increase the amount of bass, and while that may seem attractive, it will not give you an accurate perception. Also, you can mess up the mid and high frequencies placing them near walls, because of the reflections off the various surfaces. I learned a rule many years ago. It's the rule of thirds. Place your speakers one third into the room off the side walls, and one third away from the rear wall. This rule of thumb works very well. Get as close to it as possible.
