Are you talking about monitors of the same type?
In short, the answer is yes regardless. It isn't a good idea. If they are the same pair, then you wouldnt have a stereo field to mix in. If they are just another set of monitors that you are going to be switching to and from, then you'll lose some bass integrity from both sets of monitors.
