now i am just curious and want some honest opinions...we all like to check our mixes through several systems to make sure the mic sounds as good as we can get it...but what do you think about checking them on say an ipod since most the world is using mp3 players? is this somethin we should be thinking about?

not a bad idea, but i wouldn't put a whole lot of weight to the sound there.
it depends on a lot of things, the ripping, the ripper software, the mp3 player, the little headphones or in-ear...
and it's really easy to adjust the eq and volume by the user.
