Monitors

Oh REALLY????
Sorry to ask this, but I've searched but got no good answer.

I'm always on a budget, and don't have really good stuff. However, I'm now in need of decent monitors.

I've been looking around and found the

alesis
tannoy reveal
yorksville (not sure of type)
and about a million others.

Now i don't need the really good stuff(not that any of the abovce is the really good stuff LOL), since the rest of my gear isn't particular good. In the nearby future I'm getting the DBX 386 or something like it, and wont be going up quality wise in the distant future...

Now what monitors are good enough? I really have no clue. I can go and listen but hey, what should i listen for? I heard , for example , teh mackies HR824 and was blown away.. although out-of-my-budget...

Some advice would be appreciated.

I'm a pretty big fan of the BX8's... But, you've got to read that manual...
 
Thanks, I'll look into them. But what do you mean with the manual comment?
